about

Golden Blue is the first solo album from Melbourne saxophonist Jack Beeche (PBS winner 2013 Tim Willis – The End, Bell award nominee - Issho, ARIA/ Bell award winner Stephen Magnusson). It comes at the culmination of his post-graduate research into improvised counterpoint, featuring lyrical two-part solos and exploratory ensemble interaction. This album features guitarist Dan Mamrot (Tim Willis – The End, Monash Art Ensemble) and drummer Aaron McCoullough (Darren Archer, Dan Gassin) in a Paul Motian-esque bass-less trio that expands into quartet with bassist Gareth Hill (Ted Vining Trio, Blow, Tim Willis – The End). Coming soon is Beeche’s next release, a duo album with award winning guitarist Stephen Magnusson.
